Default Just couldn't resist in the end...

Hiya,

I eventually gave in to the symptoms of the mod bug. I have been resisting the urge to alter my car from standard due to its somewhat limited edition resale value, but after careful consideration and planning have decided to upgrade the suspension of the WRP10 to increase it's daily driveability. I have steered clear of engine performance upgrades and stuck with the handling and braking areas.

I have just purchased:
Whiteline 22mm H/Duty Blade adj. front swaybar (BSF33Z)
Whiteline Swaybar link kit - spherical rod end (KLC39)
Whiteline 24mm Ex. H/Duty Blade adj. rear swaybar (BSR36XZ)
Whiteline Swaybar link conversion kit - steel (KLC19)
Whiteline H/Duty rear swaybar mounts (KBR20-24)
Whiteline Adj rear strut brace (KSB511)
Whiteline Anti-lift/caster kit (KCA359)
Whiteline Roll-centre/bump steer adj. kit (KCA313)
Whiteline H/Duty steering rack mounts 30mm (KSR202)

Also, front slotted rotors have been fitted to the car recently.

The next additions will probably be Whiteline toe/camber adj arms and toe arms, KTA109 & KTA107 respectively.

So hopefully i will notice some difference in the car, and i believe these to be reasonable, sensible mods to the car which hopefully will not drastically affect the rare nature of the car, and if necessary, can be easily reversed to sell the car as a stock standard WRP10 (as compared to extensive engine modifications etc...)

Let me know what you think

Nice set of handling mods you have purchased. What about just getting a TBE and maybe a verso tune?

Well, TBE will most likely cost a substantial amount more than these Whiteline parts have just set me back. Also, from what i understand the WRP10's can't be verso tuned...but i may very well be wrong, and am willing to admit that, and would be happy to verify this once and for all.

Cheers,

Nice list.

Try to fit it one thing at a time - eg strut braces first, then sways n links, then alk, roll centre kit and anything else. That way you get a feel for each part and the difference it makes!

Will you be fitting yourself? Make sure that rear sway bar is adjusted to medium

Do you still have stock springs/struts?

umm...oops haha...all this will be dropped into the car at once by RMS in bout 3 weeks (to keep the insurance company happy) except for possibly the rear strut brace due to availability issues at the Whiteline end...and yes the springs/struts are stock for the WRP10, which from what i can gather, have some STI tweaks thrown into the mix.

LOL!!!!

That's how it all starts!

VERSO tune can be done daz. Just gotta throw $990 at Sean and Nik @ AllStar Garage in Malaga and say pimp my ecu. As well as the exhaust which you can spend as littlle or as much as you like (it's all about the dump pipe ), throw in a MAC 3 port boost solenoid ($100) to control boost a bit better and possibly upgrade to a K&N/Apexi panel air filter($120) in the standard air box with snorkel removed (easy to do yourself and even put back on later) and you're set. Easy power and torque improvements, nice noises, turnkey reliable including cold starts and air con on.

Also, another question out of mere curiosity, would the STI ECU upgrade of the WRP10 yield better results from the verso tune than a standard WRX verso tune? or is the end result more to do with engine potential, and therefore, more directly, engine modifications?

"Available exclusively as a Crystal Grey Metallic manual sedan, the WRP10 includes an STI engine performance upgrade kit increasing peak power from standard WRX's not-insignificant 168kW @ 6000rpm to 175kW @ 6000rpm (or about 238 horsepower).

The STI upgrade kit includes a replacement Electronic Control Unit to change fuel injection mapping and other aspects, plus upgraded exhaust components and a unique large single tip muffler."

7kw over a stock WRX is 2/10 of fug all and perhaps just the rear muffler makes that, if it's a better design than the wrx milo tin.

verso wrp10 v wrx would be same/same....

**I do see a note that says the WRP10 ecu cannot be flashed as is is electronically locked by STI....probably encrypted.**
