Default 04/05 coilovers into gc8

Ive picked up some coilovers really cheap, but were from a 04/05 wrx
ive just gone to put them in and found that the rear strut top from the gc8 is too big to fit on the coilovers spring(as the coilovers retain standard strut tops)
is there still a way to fit these into my car?
ive dont searches already, but havent really got a straight answer

any help is much appreciated, cheers

we slotted the rear holes on Saint23's car. you need a small round SHARP file with soem muscles or a dremel/air tool or similar. they only need to space out about the same size as the thread on the strut top. once you have your first one out compare them and you will see

save your $$ and get something suited I reckon..cheap and coilovers is a bad combination and will cost you in the long run. Your car is set up nicely imo

i am still skeptical on this, i might try and source different springs first that will suit the gc tops, if not then ill go ahead and slot them
i would only be slotting them 10mm max, as long is its all centred, then i cant really see the issue, but definately going to try and avoid it as much as i can

at the moment its got the coilovers in the front, and stock up back, with a few whiteline goodies, i like the height up front, just need to bring the bum down. ill see what i can sort this week as im on holidays, hopefully i can get them to fit without butchering
