YES....VERY concerned!!!!! it's the engine is detonating!!!!!!!

The CEL flashes when detonation occurs (It's telling you to lift off the loud pedal NOW).

It's a warning function of the Power FC......To prevent you blowing up your engine.

The rattle you hear is the insides of you cylinders getting hit by exposive shockwaves caused by the detonation.

This is VERY BAD and it will POP your engine very rapidly if left unchecked.

Check for air leaks between the Airflow meter & Turbo first.

Who tuned your car?
what is the knock value on the commander getting to?
how much boost are you running?

DO NOT drive it hard until you find the cause......otherwise BOOM!

Anyone been playing with the boost or map settings on the PFC lately?

Friday funny?

Do you have a hand controller on you PFC? what does the "knock" say when this is occuring?

Edit: What Rossco said

Get your wallet ready for an ass raping.

Just because your running "only" 13 psi doesn't mean your engine is safe from driving it untuned.

stay OFF boost until you get it tuned.

13 pounds of boost... 40 degrees of timing.. winning combo!

The base map has way too much timing for an EJ205 (all powerfc's are factory tuned for EJ207's)......

If you don't have a commander (hand piece) to monitor what is going on, I would be extremely cautious of driving it on any boost at all......

If it's on the base map the knock warning is set way too high (@ 60) before the lamp flashes, your engine is only safe upto a knock value of about 35......If you can hear the rattle you are WAY beyond 'safe' and risk destroying the pistons/rods/ bottom end.

Not very likely.

His PFC is untuned & on the base map (running 20 + degrees of timing on boost).
