Default Clutch question?

Hi Gents,

looks like my clutch is finally on it's last Hurah!!.....

I'm looking at the Clutch industries RPM1911N Kit.

fully organic, higher clamp load than stock.

Opinoins please?

Should I do a light weight flywheel whilst the box is out?

(Will be doing rear main, g/b input & output seals whilst the box is out)

RMS full organic clutch $440, modified clamping pressure, feels just as light as stock.

Should you get a light flywheel at the same time? Most definitely

Should smash in a Group N gearbox mount (around $120??) and Superpro bushes (< $30) while you're at it

if you are going to do the input seal for the trans. you will have to split the gearbox, so you might as well do driveshaft and selector shaft seals at the same time. go for a light weight alloy fly wheel, i have the 4.7kg one and it feels great

I've the fidanza aluminium flywheel (4.7kg) and the problem u might encounter is that the car tends to stall while driving. U will have to be real quick in gear-shifting as the revs drop pretty fast since the flywheel is light. Since u r running on a PFC, sean might be able to put up the idle a bit or if u r handy with your PFC, pretty much u could do it yourself.

Cons on this flywheel is that some might find it too light, and not at hardy as a chromolly one and being aluminium, it might have a tendancy of warping. The aluminium flywheel will require a change in the surface plate each time u change a clutch (which is expensive) while the chromolly one will just need machining.

Depending on driving style, i will be swayed towards a slightly heavier chromolly one which is about 7-8kg (still a lightened flywheel) for durability, drivability and ease of maintenance.
