Default Headers + No tune = BOOM?

My master plan of getting my equal length headers fitted and a retune before No Limits this Thursday night has fallen short so my question is what risks are involved in giving it stick around Barbs without a tune?
My thoughts were to get a tune to maximise any benifits of the headers thinking that there wouldn't be any adverse effects without a tune, bearing in mind that I've only really been putting around since the fitting ( thanks Doug!! ).
Thoughts??

Are the headers bigger diameter internally?? I can see an issue of leaning out if they are..

Are you still using the stock ECU (mass air flow sensor)? Or are you using an aftermarket ECU with a MAP sensor?

Changing the headers should give you better volumetric efficiency and will lean out on a MAP based ECU, but will have little or no effect on a mass air flow based ECU.
