yeah i know, but the problem is it doesn't sound or drive like it's running rich so i don't know where to start looking.

the exhaust is fine, smell is fine, there's an oil leak from the rocker cover onto my exhaust which is common as anything but i'm getting that done on thurs.

otherwise there is no obvious signs of running rich.

Don’t trust your fuel gauge....i remember reading that Subaru fuel gauges are notorious for giving slightly lower readings for the last half/quarter of a tank (personally I think most cars are like that).

I remember a discussion on either here or Rexnet where people were thinking they needed to fill up with 1/8 a tank left and bitching about only getting 280-3xx km's, whereas if there were to drive until the fuel light came on, they would get another 50-100 k's.

Personally i fill up with about a quarter tank left most of the time, and expect to get 330+ by then depending on the driving style for the week....

Only putting in half a tank will also make it harder to gauge properly.....

From what you have described the fuel doesnt seem to be going through the motor.
You havnt dropped a vaccume line off the fuel tank or some thing like that?
Doesnt leave fuel on the ground when you fill it?
It will be something stupid, your gonna slap yourself on the fore head when you work it out. ....

How much fuel are you actually putting in at the petrol station and how many actual kilometers are you getting?

Without that information, it may just be your flux capacitor fluxing too hard on shift changes above 88mph.

My thoughts exactly John.
How many litres are you putting in when you fill up?

When i first got my WRXy (01 Bugeye also) I had a TBE and a Atmo BOV, and it was definitely running rich and was eating through the fuel - Definitely more than 60Km per tank though! Maybe 200? You could smell it and definitely see a build up of soot over the boot.

Ditch the Bov back to stock, and get it tuned.

Bov wont make much of a difference as its doing nothing untill you are off the accelerator. Get a tune.

Ooh that makes much more sense. So about 300km a tank? That sounds about right, no tune + atmo bov.
