I can even drive in 2nd so far... only indication its stuffed is the noise in 2nd.

adam, take it to a couple of workshops and get it checked
it could be a cheap fix
but if you don't get it checked asap, a cheap fix could end up being an expensive one

thanks I will... im not driving it at the moment but planning on taking it in somewhere tomorrow.

wouldn't believe it, I too, have just lunched my gearbox

Coming back from the shops, eased onto a big roundabout and booted it in 1st, front wheels spinning, tacho say 6500rpm, dip the clutch grab 2nd and BANG! GRRRR! GIGGA GIGGA GIGGA....

Put clutch in, coast, look for somewhere to pull over.....hmm it slots into 3rd and drives but with the sound of bits gingling round in there.....lip home,..here we are...

11. Kaaz.

Gears 1,2 &3 straight cut, 4 & 5 Helical cut. Great whine sound in 1,2&3 and a quiet 4&5 when your crusing.

well it's taken me about 30min to realise that I want a Sti 6speed with RA ratio's, DCCD and all diffs. I know they exist....hmm
