why at redline?!
hey guys got a bit of a problem thats been with me since i bought my car. some people say its an emissions sensor and others are claiming that my boost is too high which is causing ecu problems (is stock boost on an 02 wrx 13-13.5psi??)
basically, once i hit redline my engine light comes on. i dont do this all the time but its still annoying to see when i do. i avoid getting that far but does anyone know what this is, why its doing it and what i can do? cheers

well without getting the code from the CEL, you wont really know.
personally i'd avoid hitting redline.... |

Mine used to come on in my bugeye, it was a Cam Angle Sensor CEL
I used to get rid of it by turning my ignition from acc to on 9 times |

probably what it is. the code will stay in the history even after it disappears from the dash, the ECU needs to be reset, only takes 2 min

CEL coming on redline might suggest a fuel cut from your ECU. Was there a huge jerk when the CEL came on?
And by redline u said, is at which point on redline? 7000rpm to 9000rpm is redline zone. If u are hitting 8500rpm and the CEL throws, i will say fuel cut.

Hitting 8,500rpm? No rev limiter?
For the OP, get CEL code read. Solve problem once you have the data. Could be a number of problems, so best to solve the actual problem than internet guesses.

I would think the 02 WRX and onwards has a revlimiter.

Rex's dont have fuel cut, only rev limiter (ignition inhibitor) and boost cut.
