dbw is like sega rally, the computer controlls the throttle depending on what its going to let you have.

I have a pedal & cable, and the right throttle body to use.

they will suit the upper manifold that I previously sold to Darren (rubbberbudgie).

the bracket on the firewall, which the pedal mounts to is DIFFERENT to that in a cable throttle GD.

It should not be too hard to unpick the spotwelds on both Darren's car and a stripped out GD wreck/halfcut.

welding the cable pedal bracket in could be a little challenging.

If you need any help with dismantling the interior let me know.

the only thing that could be an issue is the cruise control on your car will not work with a cable throttle assembly.

What about the DBW do you not like that you want to change?

DBW is actually a very good thing and the Motec allows you to do a very large amount of things with it.

Lift-off delay can be tuned out to a degree but still not as good as cable

Admittedly I cant drive mine anywhere near close to the limit that someone that could really make the most of the differences could manage but surely you learn the timing to make it work.

If you need to get off the pedal .2 of a second earlier then surely it is the same result just you need to program the timing into your reactions.

Hell older electric haul trucks had a 3 second delay on the accelerator and dynamic braking but after a while you didn't even notice it. You just get used to hitting the pedals at the appropriate time to make it work.

I agree about the whole getting use to it thing.

I test drove an 05 sti and an 07 sti straight after and I couldn't change gears nicely at all at first, but after about 5 min I got use to pressing the throttle slightly earlier and lifting slightly earlier to stop it free reving. Now I don't even know I'm doing it.
