Also just while I got this topic here. Went to start the car finally but when I turn the ignition I get nothing, the starter doesnt even click. I get this sort of a two tone buzz noise from the dash.

Is it possible the ecu is detecting air in the fuel line or low oil pressure or something and not letting the car start?

ok, thats one possibility scratched then. Speaking of fuel pressure how do you bleed the fuel line on the older wrx's? I can't find a schraeder valve anywhere?

have you checked the battery mate? sounds like it is very flat. Dont worry about bleeding the fuel lines, they bleed through the return and injectors. Turn the key from off to on mayby 3 times and you will hear the fuel pump run. then start the car

Turns out it was a wire off the starter I had forgot to put back on. Started her up and she runs and no more headgasket problem. Runs like shit though and can hear a high pitch whine through the exhaust :S.
We plan on getting it tuned but I dont want to take it in if there is an assembly issue. When I pulled the motor apart I marked on the timing belt and pulleys where everything was so I wouldn't mess up the timing but I'm presuming somehow I have. Would this be just because of the shaved heads and really only need a retune or is there something else that could be wrong?

EDIT: On the plus side the headgaskets work fine and fixed the original problem haha! 2 steps forward 1 step back.
