Default Car feels like a slug after 2500rpm - help please!

Hi everyone,

I have tried searching but to no avail so I'm really hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.

All day yesterday my car was driving fine and all was good, nothing out of the ordinary. Last night I had to head out and decided to give it some love and noticed that after 2500rpm it struggles to rev. Very similar to misfiring but not near as bad.

The car is still able to pick up speed but not near as fast as it usually would. I tried it in 3rd and 4th. Yet to try it in the first two gears just incase.

A few things to note;

1. It has a Wank Off Valve.
2. Diff-Back Exhaust.
3. Due for service 1000kms ago.

I'm thinking it could be spark plugs or even coilpacks but would like some more advice on this as it's really shitting me. And car will be serviced eiher end of this week/early next.

Car is an '06 STI.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Andrew.

Thanks guys, will check the hoses as soon as a can. Yes Dave it's definitely due for a service, being my only car at the moment and caught up with other things means I can't get it to them any sooner than the end of this week/early next so I'm trying to drive it as least as possible.

Sounds as though it's in limp mode (for whatever reason)...take it to a workshop for diagnosis and get them to ditch the aftermarket BOV while they're at it...

Yeah I was also thinking that, car has been in limp mode a few times before and it feels very similar.

Just not going to drive it much until service as I'm picking up some new rotors, pads, coilovers and turbo-back and I'll fit and tune it all at once.

A friend of mine had a similar problem to this, but it was up at 4000rpm and over, it would just feel sluggish after that.

I was told it was the fuel pump, that it wasn't giving enough fuel to the engine or something, and that the car needed a tune/new fuel pump.

I could be wrong though? Still new to this.
