Default Time for Tune

Hey guys,
I've had my wrx 00 for a a year now and i've had it tuned once since i've had it (back in may last year 09). The reason for my concern is when i drive it hard i get black smoke puffin out like a chimney at the exhaust (ONLY when i drive hard) otherwise its not a problem.

Is it possible i need a retune and what are the different kinds of tunes u can do. Last time i did a $200 tune at allstar garage, was just a std check up and tune for the air-fuel ratio he mentioned wasnt balanced at thats whats causing it. after that tune it was running nicely no smoke.

Any ideas?

cheers

Sorry Chad! ( i didn't refresh between phone calls lol)

Do you run a pod filter?

When was your O2 sensor last replaced?

Have you changed anything on the car since the last tune?

Powerfc?

yeah it's got the FC commander (lil computer) and when the initial exhaust 3" from turbo back was installed in it had the full tune.

There isnt many sig mods apart from that exhaust and cold air intake.

now i'm just sorta i guess maintaining it...

1. Clean your air filter & afm
**Only use CO contact cleaner on the AFM**

See if that clears up the richness.

On another note: Can you read the water temp on the FC commander?

If the water temp sensor fails (or is unplugged) the car will run constantly rich, it should read 89-94 degrees when fully warmed up.
