Not exactly easy.. the service manual will give you instructions.

http://ken-gilbert.com/impreza-manuals
Within that forum is a link for the service manual for the bugeye, if Joe's post is a little obscure then download the service manual and have a look at it.

Its going to be fun to do, especially if none of bolts have never been cracked before, so I suggest getting a hold of some WD40 (or alternate product of choice), I've just been through this myself and have found that the service manual within that link is a great reference guide.

The only difference I can see in Joe's rundown would be removal of turbo heat shield first (which from memory there will be two 10mil bolts on the left side of the engine bay 'on your right if you're facing forward, and one on the right hand side (your left if facing forward).

G'day Nicole,

I take it this is on advice received in another thread? Something to check/change before a turbo swap? Its certainly not a hard job, given the right tools, and ability to lift car off the ground. I have the manuals on disc if you need a copy. Did you get your vacuum lines and stuff changed? Restrictor put in or whatever it was?

Obviously all the workshops here could do it, however, I think its fairly easy, and if your boyfriend is mechy minded, he should be able to do it.

I dont have time to write something biblically long and detailed here, so I'll summ it up how I did my bugeye:

"Ok, so its that bit there that needs to come out Ross/Stace/Matt/Rob...?"
"Yeah man".
"Ok, ill remove that bit, that bit, and that bit, and then if we twist it that way, swear a little, draw some blood, it SHOULD just fall out yeah....? "
"Yeah man".
"Onto it!".

Brent.

Are you at work or at home as the Impreza manual is 35/36mb complete 'something I wouldn't recommend downloading from work unless you have permission'.
