Default Manifold Conversion

So I'm in the process of my build, and have gotten my hands on an ~'02 inlet manifold (better flow apparently, top feed squirters, etc), and have done ahead and removed the risers, deleted the tgvs, and now that I pay a bit closer attention, the loom is my next challenge. Has anyone done this conversion themselves, or know of a build link for this at all? I've had a gander and can't seem to find one, but the main concern is in regards to modifying the loom to suit the sensors on the throttle body of the 02 as all of the plugs are different. Anyone, anyone?

Cheers, Alex.

I did, yes, but it's getting changed out for a Vipec.

depending on how flexible the vipec is, it is possible.

its just a matter of repinning the plugs and telling the ecu of the new calibrations on each sensor.

Hmm. Sounds like a worthy plan. Time to get myself a new engine loom by the looks of it. Will keep updating for anyone considering doing something similar in the future.

get yourself the loom from an GD wrx, i have repinned the entire GD engine loom into a GC engine loom pinout. even re-useing the GD coilpacks on a GC.

i'll map the pins for you and post it up.

this is what i did for repinning on a 02/03 sti wiring harness to an unmodified JDM STI GC8 wiring harness.

connections to the waste gate solinoid, manifold pressure solinoid, differential pressure sensor and air flow meter remain unchanged.

my replacement ecu is the motec, this is untested on a factory ecu.

i have not included the reference for the cam/crank sensors, as they share the identicle same colours and should be traced/repinned manually to avoid confusion.

Woot! Cheers mate. I was to some extent getting a bit of a grasp on it all, especially in regards to the COP conversion, but this will definitely save me some time so I can scratch my head aimlessly about other things.
