hello people im having trouble with my wrx 97 when im accelorating or on boost wierd ticking kind of sound exaughst has been checked any ideas

how frequent is the ticking? Increases with revs, only when boosting etc etc

gets worse as i put my foot down and when im cruzing u can hardly hear the noise

only started to make the noise once i took it out for a trash on full boost had a lil crackel sound and that was it since then every time its making this sound on accelor

any one got any ideas ??????

It's nearly 10pm on a Monday night. Most people will be snoozing for work tomorrow. Or if not working, out getting churros in Leederville.

+1, you done gone and dak dak boomed it. Full boost with a boost controller is not a good thing. Budget at least $2000 for an engine swap.

boost control solenoid ticking
dropped shim
big end dieing
Detonation
pipe bomb timer under driver's seat......

Could be ANY of the above + more.

If it sounds like a tick it wouldnt be big end thats more of a knock, could be your lifters but, sounds more like a your exhaust manifold is leaking, either that or the solenoid for your boost controller or gauge is ticking, cause mine does.
