Usually an EBC uses a "gain" control to attempt to bring boost on quicker. It does this by leaving the wastegate shut for as long as possible and then opening at the last possible moment. It helps that aftermarket solonoid is larger for greater and faster control of the wastegate. Obviously there are limits and you may get boost spikes.

using a higher gain value will create stability problems will it not??

Yup, as I said there are limits and because most ebc's use the same gain values for every gear (the avcr is an exception, if you actually take the time to set it up properly), you may have spikes in the higher gear.

is there any way you could tune the proportial/ integral control from the stock ecu ?
This is for the gain and integration for the ebc.

does the avcr let u tune the P I control ??

im particularly looking at the ebc, im confident that the factory configuration isnt the best, just need to know if ecutek/open-ecu etc is able to configure the PI / d? control for it
Im interested in tuning it

From what I've read and seen of the factory ECU boost control maps, the factory ecu sets a target boost (that's WAY higher then actual boost, I assume to ramp up boost faster) and uses very early wastegate openings to control final boost levels and also control spiking.

Bear in mind though that I wasn't able to see EVERY table and I'm definately no ECU expert but from what I have seen, this is the case.

BTW, motec in-gear correction IS great!
