Yes... Cosworth short block vs full cosworth long block... from looking it up, the price difference is about $12k..... so there must be a difference

The block is the same, one is not longer or shorter than the other.
It's only a description of the state of assembly, whether they do it or you do it. From what I understand short blocks have low compression unless you make them into long blocks prior to installation. (now I'm joking, didn't mean to sound condescending, thought you may have been serious)

In other words, one is more complete than the other, right...?
Hence there is a difference?
I've always thought the shortblock is not a complete cosworth engine. Just has some of the parts. The long block has that, also the rest of it?
(clearly not a mechanic and won't even service my car myself since i wouldn't know what i'm doing)
But i still don't understand how my question was stupid? Since there is definitely a difference between the two.

Your question is like asking what is the difference between a pen and a pen with a cap on it.

They both write on paper the same, but one comes with extra bits rather than re-using your or other aftermarket bits.

I personally run 1 bar (10psi) through a short block because I am not very tall.

I run half a bar in the morning.

And plus 1 to Tony Knight in SA, just ask Tino.
