Firstly I would drain some of the oil before you drive it again, it sounds like you have put to much in. Did you check the dipstick as you were filling it or just dump 5L in there?

After you have drained some oil I would use the warranty! Why pay for another motor out of your pocket?

i can't understand why you didn't top it up when you saw it was only reading halfway up the dipstick being the 2.5 oil munchers they are, but yeah check its not overfilled & if problems persist go & see the dealer you got it from, thats what warranty's are for

Also, what grade of oil did you put in? As the advert goes, 'oils ain't oils'.

If it is some crap (i.e. not a recommended viscosity) or diesel engine oil, I'd be doing a change prior to taking it in for warranty. Just randomly grabbing some 'performance engine oil' could be a cause of the fault.

How does this happen?

Judging by your join date, you have only recently purchased the car?

Pre- purchase inspection didn't pick anything up?

No offence, but it sounds like you dont know what you're doing...

Take it to someone who does... Ie Doug at STechnic or one of the other recommended workshops in the workshops thread

Good luck, I hope it doesnt cost you too much, especially with a newly bought car!

...and also no offence "Damo69".... but you make a post on a public forum asking for advice and only give the bare threads of the story......
