Can someone tell me where to find the fuel filter on a MY05 WRX??

I believe that it is in the fuel tank for MY05s, though I could be wrong. For GC8s its definitely in the engine bay.

engine bay, next to left strut tower, small black canister with one hose in, one hose out.

I have seen this in the engine bay and had no idea this was the filter due to the size of it. I thought fuel filters were alot smaller. Just have to go and get one now. Do you just put the new one in and turn on the ignition so the fuel is pumped into the filter or is there more to it??

just remove and replace, there is in and out marked on the filter. Make sure clamps are tight. Turn the ignition on, this will prime the fuel pump, check for any leaks, start engine, again double check for leaks. Your away.
