Default Fitting bigger tires - 235 on stock rims

hey all, i ordered 235/45/17 ku36's for my 05sti (stock rims, suspension ect)
is it sensible to put these on these rims? and if that works, or i find alternate rims, what will i have to change on my car to get them to fit with minimal rubbing/damage?

or shall i give up, relies i fail at life and sell these tires?
haha if so, make an offer and suggest me a better tire? i think that maybe i shud try get rid of these and buy another set of ku36s in 225/45/17 - or maybe 215/25/17 - as they are a lot cheaper?

need to decide soonish, as i went for a drive up the street to sus out my leaky radiator and got a puncture today, and my tires are also due for replacement.

cheers robert

to be honest, 235 on standard width rims would look shit, i was going to put 235 on 9" wide rim.

The OEM fitted Re070 tyre for 05-07 STI is 235/45R17. Its fine.

I run 235/45 R17 KU36 on my 17x8s no problems.

The standard tyre on 05-07 STI (17 x 8 rim) is actually 225.
A 235 will be fine. Do not use a 215.
Most people who run R-Spec tyres use 235/45 on std 05-07 rims. Some even run 245/40.

Will the 235's fit the standard 02 sti wheel?

That size tyre should fit on any rim width between 7.5" and 9", although Kumho don't list the recommended rim sizes on their site.

I thought the 02 sti wheel was 7.5" and the 05 sti was 8"?
