Limiter is the factory launch control.

Don't listen to these other guys, they are being silly.

Similar thing happened to me, then I realised the engine was in the 'off' mode after turning the ignition key to the 'on' mode I was able to launch successfully. Just check the key is in the correct position.

Are you sure you put it into gear? lol. I also greatly doubt you can launch from 3rd gear with a stock JDM STI motor. If anything, you'd be greeted by a loud diff thud followed by the RPM dropping so fast that you look like a n00b taking off in a manual car for the first time

This has happened many times for everyone, don't listen to these guys mate it is quite normal the first few times you launch a set of tyres.

What happens is the tyres are gripping the road but the residual soap in the tyre bead makes the rims spin inside the tyres. By the time you got 3rd the soap had burnt off and as you put the clutch in the rims grabbed the bead again and off you went.

Most of the guys in here like to take the piss a bit and it's hard to tell what's the truth.
