Worried about Collie...

Fitting some A1RMs tomorrow - was initially going to use my OEM rotors, but I don't think they will cope, so gonna try track some slotted as quickly as possible!

Slotted or blanks will have no bearing on heat dissipation from the rotor. Leaving the car parked while the brakes are hot leads to cracks and warpage. Always cool down the brakes before parking.
Pad types are what determines wear rates of rotors and heat generated.

IMO slotted are for looks. Blanks will perform just as well and are cheaper. If anything slotted rotors will reduce the life of the pads. Use an aggressive pad for the track meets and change rotors when they are shot. I use the 750 deg QFM pads on my car for daily and the occasional skidpan. Dust shields removed, decent fresh fluids and all works well.

Collie eats brakes, definately get new gear if you can and bring the old ones too just in case!

Joking right? So why do all race cars use a type of slotted disk?

This.

If you plan on doing motorsport, get the slotted ones. If you're a poser, get drilled. If you just drive the car on the street, get blank.

Slots are there to remove brake debris and gases from the pads hitting the rotor. A quality slotted rotor should be better than a OEM rotor. For a street car hitting 3 laps of a circuit... Doubt 90% of us would notice the difference of a rotor compared to pad compound, fluids etc.

A quality rotor should also have heat markings on them, but no one ever looks at them either.

Have you ever picked up a DBA4000 Brembo rotor? Getting one of those to warp would be next to impossible - Perhaps if it was glowing hot and you parked it straight away with your foot hard on the brakes ..
