RS and early WRX ECUs dont have a problem not seeing boost at the MAP sensor. The one way valve trick has been used on hundreds of RS Libs without issue. I used it myself for years on my old engine no problems.

Theres something else going on here that is behaving like boost cut. But I dont think it is.

My JDM conversion into my old Lib used to hit boost cut at 16psi relative. I think thats normal.
Rossco may be right, if it's logging a code, it may enter a failsafe mode.
I'm pretty sure I've seen a 97WRX with the MAP sensor hose unplugged, doing the same thing
Instead of fooling the sensor, you should fit a fuel cut defender and fool the ECU instead.

Failing that, consider sparkplugs may be worn, fuel pump/pressure.
Possibly even AFM.

God no. FCD's are shit.

This is doing the same thing with or without the sensor plugged in.

As Ludwig said, that mod has been done 100 times by others, no issues .

Got tons of pressure, sparkplugs have been changed 3 times in 6000km, its not a dirty plug miss, its a cut. Has a brand new crack pipe price AFM in it.

HEC indeed.

I would be stunned if a VF12 was blowing out spark at 1.01 bar and not .99 bar

Joe, it copped new plugs on Friday.

This issue has been around sine I got the car, but I have never fussed because I didnt really want extra boost in it .. until now.
