Steamboat there is a cat in that exhaust. Its in the centre pipe of the photo. (Youll see the white honeycomb of it when you look down it).

Up pipe is easy as well. It's all DIY even if you're not mechy minded. Requires no guide.

Allow an hour for the exhaust change, and another hour for the up-pipe.

Brent.

Wrong............No cat, as the TradeMe site in NZ says it's an expansion chamber, I thought it was illegal for shops to fit without a cat like fitting the wrong/lower tyre load rating by a tyre shop?????

I'd love to see you do a complete TBE on your own in an hour lol.

Thanks for the link, your right there is no cat...hmmm
Maybe I should call ALL Star and ask if they would still install it.
Maybe I should postpone it for another month and get their exhaust instead.
If I get a yellow sticker it will cost $250 to get it changed and $250 for another verso tune. Followed by $250 to put it back on and another $250 verso tune costing me $1000 for nothing...grrrrrr

The cops would not know if it had a cat or not if they pulled me over, looking at the exhaust the expansion chamber looks like a cat dont you think?
Without the cat im not going to burn people to death i hope?

The exhausts are typically louder again without the cat, to which if you are sent to the pits because it's too loud, you'll be ripping out the midpipe and trying to get:

a) a cat fitted
b) a midpipe which fits which has a cat in it
c) fucking around in general

Risk it or not, your choice!

Wait till you can afford something a little better or a good quality 2nd hand one, it's just not worth the risk.......Patients is a virtue .. or some shit like that.

You can smell an exhaust with no cat too. Looks will only deceive someone who doesn't really know.

I'd personally be looking at someone who can do the job properly for you. You will spend $545 ($450 + $95) on this exhaust, then install $250 + minimum 1 hour to make it fit $100. That's already $895. Say it takes them another hour as there is an issue with hangers... Bam you now have a $1000 exhaust.

As I said before, check with other workshops on a price if you aren't installing it yourself. For instance, STechnic do one for $1000 drive in, drive out I believe. For a little bit more again, you can get a X-Force system installed.
