This is it, when I pulled my intercooler off to replace my gear oil and clutch fluid, it was full of oil.
Basically coming up through the breathers and getting sucked in through the inlet duct into the turbo.
Also has low compression on at least one cylinder, noted as a lumpy idle and an uneven crank over when starting.
237000km's though, its had a good life, Rossco also reminded me that the Version 6 has an open deck block, so it should be fine.
Speaking to bank tomorrow hopefully.

Well, I'm running out of time it looks like, judging by the clouds of blue smoke on start up this morning, and when I started her to go home after work.
Build thread will begin soon, or may attach to my driveway thread.
First idea, Cosworth cams, might as well do it right.

I'm just going to turn this into my build thread, to keep the mods happy
I started buying parts today:
So far the following has been ordered.
Cosworth 272 cams
ARP head studs
Eagle H-beam rods
Hyperflow catch can
Perrin silicon intake
Perrin high capacity fuel rail kit ( I bought this because all the hoses come with it)
I will get my machine shop to supply the JE pistons, supaseal piston rings and ACL bearings.
While the engine is apart, I will be deleting the TGV's by removing the butterflys and grinding away the divider plates, and match porting the heads.
Should be good.
Watch this space.

How much all up will this build of just the block cost do you think? I still dont see why you wouldnt go a factory built 207. Surely you could get one near cost price working at subaru?

IMO parts alone would be more then what he would be able to source the 207 block for.

But I for one am keen to see the results.

Sounds good...

Will this be on the 205 or are you getting a 207?

Bottom end parts alone should total less than $1700 through the right suppliers.
