Default Anyone had this clutch problem?

Hi Guru's

Just wanted to check to see if anybody else has had a problem with a really big notch in the clutch pedal upon releasing, as well as all around roughness in clutch stroke/travel.

Info: 95 GC8 which recently had a clutch/box replacement (probably not relevant considering I was getting the fault beforehand). Clutch was bled a few months ago as well.

I'm guessing it's something to do with the master cylinder but I thought I'd double check as I've never heard of the issue before. If it is, which master cylinders are compatible for replacing?

Thanks for your time!

sounds more like a pressure plate problem or maybe a tight pivot

Maybe remove master cylinder and check how it feels? Might just have to eliminate parts one by one.

There's an over-centre spring on the top of the pedal on turbo cars to make the clutch feel lighter. If there's air in the system it can 'notch' as the spring goes over centre or not go over centre at all and stay at half travel. Look at the hydraulic system for leaks first. If not, bring it in and I'll inspect it for you.

I'll have a look tomorrow Doug, if I can't see an issue i'll swing by at the start of the week. Only issue is, the notch is an 'intermittent' fault so chances are she'll be fine when you're having a look at it
