Craig would be the best one to ask.
Something about it misbehaving at high rpm.

Do not install the 3 port boost controller. Get this installed by ASG at the time of your tune.

Exhaust and intercooler is fine (ecu is smart enough to pull timing etc if you push it too far), but your ecu doesn't know how to control a 3 port.

First port of call should always to be calling your tuner and asking them what to do. They are not that scary and Sean is always willing to help out.

Have you spoken to Sean about the mods you are going to do for the tune? Probably best to speak to him and find out what other items you should leave in the boot for when the CAI doesn't produce any power etc.

I had all of the above including a Grimmspeed 3 port installed on a Thursday at STechnic then drove the car home and took it to Sean on the following Monday. I drove off boost and encountered no issues or adverse effects in doing this.

Kato is spot on about speaking to Sean first. He is also right about the CAI I reckon. Leave the stock airbox and filter in your boot. My experience tells me you could actually lose some power with the CAI but it does sound cool in a fully hectic sort of way. Ask Sean what he thinks about this because he has seen plenty. Good luck with the installs and tune.

Basically too much air. It messed with his mapping and he just couldn't get enough fuel to get the AFR's down enough for his liking on WOT apparently.

Now I have a $380 intake for a 08-11 sitting here that I can't in good conscience sell on here. Might throw it on Gumtree/Quokka with a disclaimer.

I wonder if the problem could be solved with a aftermarket computer, if they made one for the 08-11. In reality its not worth the money for a aftermarket computer just so you can fit a $400 intake, thats going to give you little gain.

Was there a size difference between CAI's?

Standard is about 65mm.. anything over or under will require adjustment to MAF tables to allow for correct fuel targets.

I noticed you went Cobb for your intake, will be interesting to see if AEM reacts differently. The piping on the AEM is noticably smaller - hopefully I wont encounter the issues you did with too much air?

Cobb intake is a 2.5" MAF housing to 3" silicone hose (flared slightly, so starts at 2.5" inner diameter up goes up to 3")
