that would be helpful, i was also thinking the same thing in one of the other threads... 19 is alot of boost... if the engine sits more comfortable on 16 that would be great assuming good gains followed it.

For a street car, I'd rather something that is torquey and not about high end numbers.

Go too big with the turbo and its lag lag lag lag hello fun, ohh rev limiter spoiling my fun.

Anyway, given you are on EcuTek, I'd be speaking to Racetorque or MMS (whichever place you are getting to tune the car) and ask their opinion.

Then I'd email MRT (the distributors of EcuTek in Australia) and ask them their recommendations. They will have plenty of experience with what turbo's work best and should be able to provide backup of the gains.

In your sig it says blowing smoke in all gears. Surely you would be getting that looked at first?

the tune is out...been confirmed. (because my engine is opening up as it is new) but im killing 2 birds with one stone... get the tune fixed with extra mods... at once at racetorque.

i hear you, my mates s15 hits boost at 5000rpm then revs out at 7000....

the answer to your question...MMS and MRT both reccomend the vf52...i havent asked racetorque yet...id assume theyd be the same.

i didnt really want to follow the crowd and get all the same stuff but maybe thats my best option..

Don't waste your time with a VF52 sidegrade...

And what's with all the 18g suggestions? It's a 2.5? it will spool a 20g rear housing fine!?

I'd be, and I did go with a TD06 20G on my EJ255... It didn't make huge numbers(~277hp) as the only supporting mods were 3" exhaust and intake. With your supporting mods plus a walbro pump and injectors(I would just decap, but RT won't do that) I would think it would be pretty close to, if not over 300hp, and should be fairly reliable.
Otherwise the TD05 20G will be a touch more responsive, but without quite as much top end. Full boost should be 4000-4500rpm I'd imagine, and it will still make plenty of power from 3000rpm+
