C'mon Dave, that's not what I'm saying.
I'd put more faith in 270hp at the hubs (in 4th) for more than 1 month's worth of fun on an ej255.....2.5 is about torque not max HP figures. Power or reliability, make a choice. You need to get a 4th gear baseline run with what you have now before you can throw a potential figure up. Happy to be pointed to all the reliable 300HP ath stock ej255's.

ok, as for the previous posts...
fuel pump i will get -0 255lpm walbro big enough ? 'trolley' with the 8cm housings... Monkeee - can you explain this for me...is this in length meaning it will be tight up against my dump pipe etc or does it mean the diametre... and what are the benefits... im seeing this alot but no actual definitions. is 2.4" the standard inlet on the compressor housing ? cheers.

Smaller housing = faster spool but lower top end. larger housing = slower spool but possibly more top end. It is usually listed as area ratio 'a/r', Here's a better explanation: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...housing_sizing

You need to look at the whole picture, not just the add on parts. They only help the engine do its job. Has anyone used a TD06/20 on a 2.5? Mine hits full boost at around 4500rpm, thats on a 2 litre. Surely it would be far more responsive on a 2.5, at least at around 4000rpm. SOunds like a good option to me

i can appreciate this.... if this is the case.. even tho the bbk-m and blouch etc.. would be great, am i better off sticking with a vf52 for a figure like that or for the pricedifference just get the td05 18g.
thanks, if my vendow had of done this correctly the first time we wouldnt be having this conversation Quote:

i understand completely.... i just didnt think the engines get cut up like butter.... through evolvement in the history of the wex and technology...we are clearly no better off
i spose when my engine does blow its bottom end its a good excuse to get a new one :P Quote:

Your 2.5 would spool a td06 -18g - 7cm quite nicely & have more top end than a td05xx

ewrxion87 - yeh the 255lph walboro will be fine. Pretty much everyone who upgrades the pump uses that same one.
Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but another advantage of using a larger turbo is that you should be able to get away with running a lower, more comfortable boost number. ie. no more 19psi stress. Should be able to settle for 16-17psi and still get a good gain.
