Default STI computer VF34 Turbo thoughts??

Gday all,

I was at stechnic again this morning to get some other work done.

I am getting the ultrex exhaust thats been advertised on this forum whilst my car is in there.

Stechnic said they can sell me a vf34?? turbo for $1400 i think it was, they recommended i combine this with the STI computer from a similar time to mine or a tad earlier. (I drive a 2000 gc8 wrx)

Ive read this is quite a common path to go down for some more go, has anyone else done these 3 mods

TBE
Comp
Turbo

and can comment on how the car drive afterwards??

Was the power difference really felt?

I was advised i may get up to 25% gain (close to wait the STI's have)

any thoughts on the price and whether this is the best route??

I have no aspirations for the car its my daily driver, i dont want to make ridiculous power or race it so i dont need to go larger than the vf34 turbo.

Is it worth just trying the new sti computer with my stock computer and the 3inch exhaust for a bit more grunt?

THanks

lolwut?

I think they meant to accompany your exhaust, a VF34 turbo and the STI computer, then a tune...this is a good path in the way of mods..

Good luck

There be a million threads on installing a VF34 on a Subaru.

It would have to be the most commonly done modification to a WRX due to the great bang for buck.

You could get a Blouch TD05-18G XT (I reckon 7cm housing for the 2L) for around the same coin?

Newer technology, billet wheel - should spool up as quick as a VF34 and allow you some headroom to up the ante down the track if you feel the need for more power??

V6 = 98?

TD05 18g will be laggier than a 34. And because it flows much more, you really need an aftermarket ecu and injectors and real tune.
