Default Brake Shudder

Okay so around December last year I started experiencing brake shudder through the steering wheel and pedal, so took it to my mechanic, he drove it and said 99% it was my front rotors. I also researched and found nothing to suggest that he was wrong. So i ordered some rotors from DBA and some pads and helped my dad install them. We cleaned "everything" in the process (this included scrubbing the rotor bearing hub with a steel brush to make it as clean as possible, and of course we cleaned the brand new rotor it self).

We applied anti squel grease or whatever it was and the squeling from before hand was completely eliminated. Although, the brake shudder was still there, but slightly different, which I guess was due to the brake pads and rotor change. So changing the rotors and pads hasnt changed the problem at all really, odd, but whatever :S.

Since I changed the rotor I have only done about 1200km's (over about 3/4 months) and when not braking the car is perfect. Its got to the point where I am pissed off that when I brake i feel the shuddering so I want to get it fixed.

Does anyone know a brake specialist who will be able to diagnose the issue or if someone here has gone through the same process as me already and may know what my issue is, then feel free to say so.

I'm thinking the highest probability is that the issue is something do with the rear brakes, i.e. rotors/pads, i dunno lol.

I appreciate any help, I'd rather not go buy rear rotors and pads if I can help it just incase it is something completely different.

EDIT: Around November of last year I mis judged a tight turn and scrapped my front left wheel causing some curb rash and scrapped a bit under my front guard but nothing too bad. I thought that may have been the cause for the brake shudder after installing the front rotors and pads didnt help. So I asked Bob Jane T-Mart if it could be a wheel balance/allignment issue and they said no as the shudder is only happening while under braking.

It's got me confused :S :@ arghhh

I've had a similar problem before, had brake shudder, so i replaced the front pads and rotors, but there is still some shudder. turns out my rear rotor is also contributing to the shudder so i replaced the rear rotors and pads too and the shudder went away.

I assume it will be your rear brakes.. but you can maybe get some rear line locker of someone and slap them on, go for a drive and if the problem is gone then that would def be your problem..

Or if you drive around and the car and brakes are warm, if your rear pads ad rotors are pulsating you should feel it threw the gear stick while slowing down. If the fronts are the cause then it will come threw the steering wheel. Be carefull if your planning on crimping the rear the lines and driving

mmm... that's weird, because I can feel it through the pedal and steering wheel, but the front pads and rotors are new :S. Not sure if I can feel it through the gear stick haven't noticed it anyway.

Has it been happening since you first put new rotors and pads in? or has come back after a while?

It started happening around November of last year, in December Dad and myself installed a new pair of front rotors and pads, the shudder was maybe slightly better but practically the same. Just felt a bit different since I had changed the front rotors/pads.

And since December, so 3 months or so, the shudder hasnt got better or worse, stayed the same. So overall replacing the front rotors and pads did pretty much nothing haha.

Iwould bet that it is your rears, but yer try block them off and see if it still does it, or just go ahead and change them, I dont think there is much else it could be..
