Default Unlock ecutek

HI, guys.
Maybe I shouldn't post this thread here, but i m desperate.

I just bought a my08 STI, and the previous owner had a ecutek and 3'' turbo back done at **s. The thing confused me was the dyno graph that tuner printed only shows rev up to 5620rpm, so i did a dyno today at evolution R. The new dyno graph shows the torque and boost drops dramatically after 5300rpm, only 250Nm atw@6500rpm. Max power is 245WHP @5500rpm. Max boost is 18psi @ 3000rpm. No smoke from the exhaust at all.

Then I decide to reflash it, but ecu was locked, called **s, but they refused to unlock it. I know this is common for ecutek. Does anyone know how to unlock it?

Thanks in advance.

You are stuck with Ecutek. Did you ask MMS to retune it for you?

Why don't you take it back to **s and get them to have a look at it
I have an ecutek reflash and am more than happy

Other option - buy new ECU.

That is the first thing they said, but my friend and I are quite happy with evolution R, Mao did spend lots of time to learn ecu tuning and pay japanese tuner come to teach him tuning ecu, but he just couldn't unlock ecutek. I heard S***e was a good tuner, but he did just...... Plus Evo R charge less than half of **s.

I also can't understand why ecutek lock the ecu to prevent other tuner from remaping.

Not sure if mine was locked or not, but the car was originally built (engine and Ecutek tune) by a similar builder at **s, but I did get it retuned by Lane at Race Torque.

So I'm happy as it fixed a problem which **s had diagnosed as another issue. Nothing against **s, and I would go back there to get work done, but for me its a 4hr drive so work is now done more locally, and I also have read that Lane has done tuning work for **s. (Less than $300 bucks a few years back)

Do you have any recommendation? I only want a mild tune, and bigger torque range.
