would never stand up in court, the yellow is just a referral to the pits to look at the car.
Have heard some bad stories about a couple of mobs around perth who havent provided the best experiences with modified cars.

Mods aren't too wild really, nothing that would cause trouble in an inspection I think.
- Changed to 17" wrx wheels, to clear the 4pot/2pot wrx brake upgrade
- Changed motor from EJ20G to EJ20R (they wouldn't even know that except different engine number)
- Changed from auto to 5spd manual
- Put VF34 turbo (doubt they'd even know that)
- Front mount intercooler (surely cars pass with these? it's mounted well)
- Coilovers (mate said his car passed with coilovers....although I'm leaning towards sticking the Billsteins back in just for this)
- Has the usual boxer rumble exhaust note but I changed it from a canon to an oval style muffler which is much quieter
- Strut braces front and back

Pit inspections in WA have always just been a massive grey area. Depends almost entirely on who you get, if they are a dick, what side of the bed they got out of that morning. Couple of years ago I passed an old L series over with my home done EJ20turbo conversion and it went straight over at Welshpool.
I hear Welshpool is closed now and I haven't taken a car for inspection in ages so just seeing what the best tips are these days.

Joondalup is too far away for me, what is the place in Osborne Park? Sounds like a winner...

I have only ever heard bad things about Osborne park. Heard of them placing im240 test orders on a few cars with modified exhausts. Didn't know about Welshpool closing, are you sure? That's where the tech section is based so if they are closed where is tech section now?

Hope your car passes with flying colours mate :-)
Probably a good idea for you to research HID's and what the ballasts are there for. Bulbs are probably running at around 5,000-12,000 volts.

But anyway, the issue I thought was running HID's in non-HID housings which cause a lot of glare for on coming motorists.

That's my understanding John. A HID light "source" emits in a very different pattern to a halogen globe and with a reflector designed for halogens causes glare issues to oncoming vehicles.

don't take it to ANG in myaree for inpection...

feedback from r31 skyline owner:

DO NOT take your car to this bunch for inspections, this guy is a farkin miserable twat.

he failed him for the car idling too high (800rpm) hole in rear parcel shelf, different coloured dash lights, small tear in seat-belt (fair enough), and stove-top tail light

make sure you fill an engine number swap form, and as above get it changed to manual.
Stuff like that will raise some eyebrows when it goes over.
