Why don't larger turbos like a TD06 have the same problem then??

considering your theory, that would mean any 2 ltr with a big turbo flowing more air would experince the same issue, which they dont.
so i doubt thats the problem.

Yeah BUT....the bigger turbo makes boost higher in the rev range. When you keep the revs up with the 34, its not a problem (no surge)..

not really brad, i get it 70% of the time reving down the gears, in high rpm and planting my foot.

I think that's because of the different flow rates at different RPM's for the turbo>? Bit out of my league here, but it's basically trying to flow too much at a low RPM, .. As soon as it all comes on song it's fine though.

Something to do with cams, gain of the turbo? .. Someone??

Eric has a 34, and his doesn't do it .. I have the same turbo, new design, both on EJ205's and only diff is i have a silicone intake and a different tune.

also - turbo's would make larger boost in obviously higher gears, i remember reaching full boost in 5th gear with the FP Green, way before 4000rpm, and i had no surge.
