hey guys i just had cosworth cams fitted to my 02 sti and the gain was tremendous not alot in top end power but area under the curve increased dramatically... i have all the fuel mods done ready for some big boost the boys at asg are saying go fmic and big turbo... the question is i don't want to lose the driveability i have now but i would like to crack 300hp at the wheels, now i have exhaust and intake done but still running sti top mount and standard turbo, wouls a vf34 be beneficial or would i be better off going something like a gtps02 keep in mind i'm not after big hp numbers daily driver on the street with only some track and strip work

What duration are the Cosworth Cams Intake and exahust?
What RPM is full boost and max Torque ?
Are these AVCS Cams ?
Have you upgraded your TMIC to a bigger item ?

go the FMIC and a TD05-18G or 20G.. With your cams it will be great.. GTPS02 will see more power but might be a bit more topend biased. If It was me I would get the GTPS02 but its up to you..

I had an V7 sti spec C (AVCS) motor with a FMIC and a GTPS01...Was getting 310 to 320hp at the hubs @ 1.5Bar..

Full boost when rolling on in 5th was seen @3200rpm...

fuel mods ready for big boost? i hope that means you've only done the fuel pump... anything else is unnecessary!

anyhow, need a bit more info-
what ecu, whats your injector duty cycle, intake temps, exhaust restrictions, inlet restrictions etc... a vf35 and 34 can do decent numbers without a hell of a lot of work.

the fuel mods i have done is walboro in tank pump, sti injectors have been decapped, ecu is stock running a verso tune, exhaust is 3 inch turbo back still running standard headers and up pipe, not sure what the intake temps were as i wasn't present when sean form asg done the tune, like i said tho i'm looking for around 300-320 at the wheels trying to keep the great driveability it has now, not sure how much more the factory tmic can take... as i'm a bit worried bout attention from the coppers if i get a fmic thats all

well done on the walbro/decaps!

grab a spec-c tmic if you can, they will be more efficent then any aftermarket equivelent. then i'd also strongly suggest some equal length headers, up the boost to 1.7/1.8 bar and you'll make the 300 with your existing setup.

Well Christmas is coming, and i am looking at doing the next round of mods to my car.

Looking to lower it a bit, purely for looks - Car doesn't really see any track, so thinking a set of Tein's, over Kings or whatever else.

Wanting to go a brand new VF34, currently running on standard MY01 injectors, 440cc? Don't really want to upgrade the injectors if i can get away with it, how far do you think i can go boost wise without doing them?

Running a Walbro 500 pump in the rear, so thats sorted, intake wise STI TMIC should do the job alright?

+ Retune @ ASG.

Can probably run 1.3-1.4 bar at the most, with stock injectors (which are 410cc)

I know this because thats how much I ran with my Link ECU and the stock injectors, without pushing the IDC above 95%.

Definitely worth looking at some STi pinks, or chop tops.
