Default R160 to R180 GC8 questions?

Hello all,

My understanding of this is, it is all to do with the rear diff, rear shafts and rear hubs.

The front shafts and hubs from the gear box front diff are the same (for R160 or R180 car)?

ALL R180 rear hubs run a 190mm hand brake drum??

ALL R160's run a 170mm handbrake??

If so, are there 2, 5X100 rear discs for the 2 piston Subaru callipers?

My STI V4 (R180) runs 2 pots Subaru callipers, But my stock WRX R160 runs 2 pot rear Subaru as well.
So i presume the diffrence is the brake disc it's self (hence handbrake size)?

Were do i get my ABS / tone ringed R180 hubs to suit GC8 from? Are they only found on the bugeye STI? Or were there R180 ABS rear hubs on late model STI GC8's?

Sorry for all the questions.. I just want to make sure what i have read is correct.

Thanks heaps, T.

All front outers are the same spline up to MY05 STi
Front inners changed from female spline to male spline circa 2003.
Generally all R180 are 190mm (except some Liberty/Legacy GT)
Generally all R160 are 170mm except some 3rd generation Impreza.
Yes, there are discs to suit 2 pot rears with both handbrake sizes. The small handbrake are easy to get and they are fitted to AUDM WRX from MY01-07. (the same disc is also fitted to some Liberties with a single pot caliper) The rarer 190mm RA disc is available but is harder to find as it's a JDM component only.

Yes, bugeye to MY04 STi has the R180 ABS hubs you need. The 2 pot caliper/290mm rotor can be fitted in place of the Brembo with a small amount of modification.
