Well done on encouraging someone to modify their car in such a manner that could quite possibly void their insurance.

They're totally necessary, especially if you're a self proclaimed track hero, same as remote starts, so you can start your car whilst you finish brushing your teeth in the morning.

Save the money, get some mudflaps as these are a legitimate useful modification...
They allow you to drive on work sites with limited risk of getting your car dirty

They are also a polite gesture to the people tailgating you, implying that you don't mind how close they are whilst travelling in convoy, you will not flick stones at them.

But if you're still after the fully sick look of walking away from your running car this might help.

make sure you leave the car in gear while the TT is running. Will also help the gearbox cool off :-)

So

everyone has different opinions on them, it's their choice if the choose to fit one to their car and insurance companies will find any excuse to void someones cover.

Question.

You install the turbo time and get involved in an accident (at fault/not at fault), there is substantial or serious damage to one or multiple cars and possibly injuries.
Your insurance company finds out that a turbo timer was installed on the vehicle and even though it may not have been a contributing factor to the accident, what happens now?

How deep are your pockets?

Go buy some coilovers, run them for 20,000km, sell them at half of what they cost you and enjoy the time.
IMO, money much better spent.

I'm intrigued cat. What else do you know about modifications and how cars work?

As far as I see it, if you don't have a turbo timer the worst that can happen is you wreck the td04. Isn't that a win?
