borrow a scangauge, and see if any error codes pop up
when was it last serviced, oil changed, etc

Certainly could be shit fuel - I had about half a tank of BP ultimate.

Was serviced roughly 5000 kms ( 6 months ) ago so oil change etc same time.

Any ideas where I borrow/buy a cheap scangauge from?

Or... take it to S-Technic and get them to look at it just to be safe. You don't want to break down on the Freeway or something and come back to a stripped out shell

Certainly doesn't feel like it now it honestly is driving normally again but was chocking, spluttering and hesitating to rev directly after the "event"

I'll see if I can find a scangauge
