Default Connecting a subwoofer to Sat Nav

Hi,
I am looking to fit a subwoofer in my car. mine is a 2009 Rex with the Sat Nav system. In the system it shows controls for a subwoofer. But i am pre sure that there is not a subwoofer in the car. So i was wondering if some one has fitted a subwoofer to this system. If so, do i have to use an amplifier. I am pre sure that there are no RCA outputs at the back of the unit. So how can i connect an amp to the system. If the unit already has an inbuilt amp, which all wires should i have to hook up to the subwoofer

Any help will be really appreciated.

I had Alberts Joondalup do mine. They fitted an amp under the passenger seat and 12" sub in the boot. I think they just wired the sub into the rear speaker cables, but the amp boosts all channels front and rear. I asked them about making it so that I could use the independent sub controls from the head unit, but it must have been too hard for them. Sounds good, so I'm happy
