Twin Scroll Sump Capacity
As title really, What is the capacity of a twin scroll sump?
I think it's 4L compared to the normal 4.5L? Doing oil change at home 1st time since doing conversion normally get workshop to do it all thanks mang

Buy 5 litres of what ever oil your going to use. Put 4 litres in and check the dip stick, then go from there. Not hard.

Sump takes less oil, but required oil volume is the same. You need the shorter dipstick (round handled) to go with the TS sump to compensate for the lower capacity sump.

4.5l is about right. Sit dead on full on the dip stick

Minor thread revival here, but after a long time scratching heads, both by myself and the Subaru mechanics as to where my slow leak is, it's been found that the rear of the sump has a seep. The part that I'm finding confusing is that if it's seeping from there, the oil level must be higher than where the sump bolts to the block? I'm running 4.5L in a twin scroll sump for reference. Any help?
EDIT: Just found a fairly informative post on NASIOC http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...2370139&page=2 See post 42 and 46 which has some images showing different year model and styles of oil pans. Now if I look at a photo of my own, it looks like the sump in post 46 which is a EJ253 na sump. Anyone else see the similarities? Anyway... If this is the case, then it seems I've been running too much oil I think as NA take 4 litres.

yeah, that looks tiny, my twinscroll sump ran much closer to the headers, this would lead me think your engines got the wrong pickup & baffle plate too, i'd whip that shit off right away, i'd also upgrade to a killerbee oil pickup as factory twinscroll one only has one brace and are more prone to cracking the brazing leading to oil starvation
