Default wheel nuts...

so, getting to business end of the build for the black bus...

wheel nuts...

1. normal OEM subaru wheel nts - closed end but functional
2. open ended wheel nuts - non aluminium, can see thread
3. billet aluminium open ended wheel nutss - aluminium, lightweight but unsure of longevity after torquing...

opinions?

Use nice new long wheel studs, 25mm of threaded wheel nut wont peel i think. Just use a TQ wrench and do them at about 80-100nm.

We have been using stock closed top wheel nuts on our gravel GC8, with stock studs. Have done about 10 rallies with the same setup, all of the wheels come off about 5 times per rally, so about 1000 individual tightens, to about 90nm. Never had any problems, or stripped any.
Those KKR nuts look pretty good for the price though.

Have the kkr somewhere at home nice bit of gear but they do not handle the rattle gun well. Mine now look sad after a fear rounds with the rattle gun over a year period.

Bumping this up, what did you end up going with?

My kkr ones have shat themselves after a couple of hot changes at events.
Could have been due to using a shitty wheel brace to undo, could have over tightened them.
Either way I need new ones by Sunday, currently existing on a combo of OEM and kkr
