Default 05 air con gone le sigh

Evening Perth wrxians, this afternoon while feeding and bathing my car i put my air con on and instead of cool air as you'd expect when the dial is turned to 20 the car was blowing ambient temperature air into the car, at this point i though it must be on heat or ac wasn't turned on.

Long story short i check it was on cool and ac light was on and it still blowing air and the heating still works just wont go cold.

Do i need my aircon re-gassed ? or is it something else ?

Thanks in advance Taylor

It's usually a gas leak. Common cause is the high pressure hose from the compressor to the condenser. (the compressor is the pump on the engine that's belt driven, the condenser is the radiator shaped part directly in front of the cooling radiator) Find that hose and see if there's oily residue near the crimped ends or see if the hose can swivel on the crimp. If so it will need to be renewed and regassed.

Rip all the seats out of the car except for drivers (obviously). Awesome
Weight saving and no passengers to complain about no aircon. Its not fucking rocket science.
SyncSubaru likes this.
