If that's an older double DIN version I believe that it doesn't have the required input ... You need to have the CD changer input or AUX in.

For reference the McIntosh is actually a rebranded Clarion unit.
The back of the unit has the clarion port, so from what u have been told the unit will work fully with my headunit. I should be able to answer calls etc and change tracks with the headunit.

It is the older headunit with the tape deck and cd, double din

No check the post that tells you to look on a liberty forum that has ALL the answers pertaining to an Aux connection for GenIV liberty's

Or

Continue to f about asking on a WRX forum that does not have a specific topic for the exact question you are asking and end up buying the wrong thing for too much money.

Ok damn it can't find that quote with the part number, but Rhys at City Subaru can give it to you. He needs to know if your vehicle has satnav or not to know which cable works. I really don't understand how the head unit can say wav/mp3 etc and have no input unless you buy a cable which is no longer manufactured, but apparently that's the case. I asked at a car audio shop and they said won't touch it unless I buy the cable myself so on that front I've drawn a blank. I think I will have to go with the units the gents on here have mentioned. Let me know how you get on.

My anycarlink arrived today. Took about 15 minutes to install, it was actully super easy. I just remved the gear knob and surround, took off the surround around the stereo and took the stereo out. Plugged it in and it worked straight away!

Sound quality is so so for bluetooth audio but what can you expect. Telephone though is perfect and i can even answer and hang up from the deck! Even siri comes through the stereo. The cd change controls on the stereo change tracks on the phone too.

So i can say yes that 100% it does work with the mcintosh deck! Actully im pretty stoked
