Default Weight Reduction & Performance

As I couldn't find anything directly relating to weight reduction in the threads I'd thought I'd start my own. Hoping P-Rexers will share their tips, experiences and results into cutting weight from their cars. Often overlooked when modifying cars for performance, reducing your car's weight can be a relative cheap (or free) way to improve braking, accelerating and handling. My first mod is to remove the space saver spare and jack, I will rely on the RAC if I get a flat. Also planning on going to lighter wheels. . .

remove Tar sound deadening from interior (under the carpet) - use dry ice to make it brittle enough to chip away.

Remove rear seat & boot trim, remove carpet, remove roof lining, remove door trims.

All the interior stripping is well and good but imo one of the best "mods" most people overlook is to carry less fuel on track, go down with a 1/4 tank and a couple 20l jerry cans, automatically cuts 30-40kg.

Down the line I will, had one on the bugeye, and it was noticeably lighter than the stock one.

I don't run more than half a tank of fuel on the street, have jerry can if needed for serious track use and run it 1/4 full as suggested.

Remove battery, or can u get light weight ones? Have not thought about that.

I'm happy to gut the boot, will keep rear seats/trim for now.

I could lose a few kgs but not 20!
