Default Brembo caliper bolts...need washer?

I'm doing a Brembo conversion and wanted to know whether I needed any washers for the caliper mounting bolts?

The calipers that I got did not come with any hardware. I managed to buy new OEM mounting bolts (#901120103) from the Subaru dealer, but the parts guy there said I don't need washers. However I've seen pics that shows a washer being used on the mounting bolts. So I'm confused

Also, I've seen some pics where there's some kind of black "brace" which attaches to the back of the caliper mounting points. I don't have it.....is it a required part to complete the conversion job?

Washers came with my Brembos I can confirm.
Perhaps the "brace" you've seen was dogbone type adapters on the rears? There is no brace but mine are R180 hubs and require no adapters

The brace exists on the front on some models ... It's not a dog bone adpaptor necessary on rear brake conversions.

Ok thanks...which year model was your Brembo's from?

No not the rear adaptors. I was referring to the front calipers where there appears to be some kind of metal piece on the back part of the hub knuckle which goes where the caliper mounting bolts go. Seems to me like some kind of brace

Yea for the front brembo calipers. So can I assume its not a necessary part to have installed since it only appears on some models?

If that's the case then I'm guessing there are two types of front caliper mounting bolts as well. One would have to be longer to accommodate the brace, whereas on cars without the brace it would require a shorted bolt.

Problem now is that I'm not sure which part number is for the longer bolt, and which is for the shorter one.

Best to ring someone like Stechnic and enquire as to the need and part numbers etc. My Brembo conversion doesn't have the brace but I believe it should.

I am trying to source a set and will need the longer bolts as well.

Mine is the same PCD 100 but the 2007 Liberty onwards had an R180 rear diff. This is usually associated with the bigger PCD 114.3 hubs.

My assumption is that the brake brace was for the smaller PCD100 hubs.

Ok I've search the internet and found some answers. Firstly, the new bolts should include washers, as shown here:

Secondly, there are actually 2 different lengths for the front caliper mounting bolts....M12x37mm (#901120103) and M12x54mm (#901120131).

The shorter 37mm bolts came on all STI models EXCEPT the 2005 model which included a "tie-rod" on the back of the calipers. This required the use of longer 54mm bolts. Some pics here: GDBE—pƒ^ƒCƒo[‚Ì—¬—p

From what I could gather, Subaru found some issues with the front caliper mountings, and sought to remedy the issue by fitting a brace / tie-rod. Then for 06+ models onwards the tie-rod was no longer required because they had strengthened the actual hub carrier itself.
