Default WRX bugeye Lights

Hi all , not long had my first WRX Impreza MY01 . Want to change globes in the parking lights & spot lights (fog) . Cant seem to find how to get to the park light ? Can find the headlight ok .. & also fog / spot lights, do you need to come from under the car to change globes ?.

In regards to the parking lights 'read headlights', you can get them out without removing and replacing them but it can be tricky if you do not know what you're doing.

I've never needed to replace anything re: spotlights so not sure.

I get my car back tomorrow so I can do a write up for you then.

You might want to have a look on NASiOC as there are a lot of detailed DiYs' on there.

The foglight bulbs, from memory, can be accessed by getting behind the bumper and unscrewing the backing plate from the foglight - this is also the seal so make sure it's firmly tightened - not cracking tight!

To access this, raise the car (ramps, jacks etc.. safety first) a little to get on your back under the car, remove engine under cover plate (5 bolts, 2 clips) and also remove some front wheel well liner clips and pull them rearwards - be wary to not tear the liners.

You'll then have full access to the globes. Reverse process to put it back together.

According to the service manual, you can do it by only removing some clips from the front lower wheel well, unplug the clip, then remove the entire foglight assembly by undoing the 3 screw bolts on the front.

Only problem is, you'll want to raise the car to make room to move, and the plug harness will likely be seized shut, and the sheet metal bracket it's mounted too is weak and you risk breaking it, I broke one of mine

Mine took a good 15+ minutes each of fiddling and swearing because you gotta push and hold the clip release down to disengage the female and slide out the male side at the same time.

I used a tiny bit of WD-40 to lubricate it though and it comes off easier now.
