Default Intake Upgrade or not?

Heh guys,

I'm looking at upgrading my stock intake set up to an aftermarket system with a pod. Just wondering if it would be more beneficial for me to stay with it as stock or upgrade it, the reason I ask is because it looks as if the air flow is better when it's kept stock but I'm not sure. For example:

If your running an AFM use the stock filter setup but delete the snorkus in the guard . Its been proven time and again when using an airflow meter that stock is fine and the difference between the two in performance is minimal .

The intake sound increases with a pod but it also increases a little with removing the snorkus.

Has the snorkus delete proven any gains?

I think u will get more power loss than gain for that particular intake. It sucks hot air at low speed which lead to knocking. And maf sensor most likely will be out by some extent.

Get a in guard intake plus turbo inlet and get it tuned, then u will c some healthy gains.

Nasioc/iwsti did have a thread aboit resonator delete, apparently it lean the af mixture a bit at high rpm.

Is there a benefit of removing the snorkus? Anyone got a guide on how to do that?

It has but only minimal . Waste of money touching intake too much on older GC8 better gains to be had elsewhere that are much more bang for buck

Can you get a resonator delete for this model? We installed one in a mates pig, basically just a u shaped pipe that replaces the resonator so you can retain the factory inlet scoopy thing.
