Tried heating it up with an oxy set?
Worked a treat couple of times I've had stuck bolts. Heat expands it, cool it off so shrinks then crank it with a good long fulcrum.

I'll tell you what i did.
Same thing dump pipe nut was stripped. The one on the drivers side of the pipe, i put a good quality ring spanner on it and jammed a screwdriver down between the spanner and the dump pipe and applied force to the side of the spanner, turned it and off it came. I tried heating etc. Anyway, this is another good tool for stripped nuts ![]() PS: Also found an old torque wrench is fantastic at undoing nuts that have had locktite etc on them, you get the leverage with out the flex associated with using a pipe. Another thing, any nut that is hard to undo with a socket set and extension, stop immediately and try something else, as all the extension ends up doing is skewing off sideways and stripping the nut. Unless you can get a full front on attack or pressure to the extension, stay clear. |
