Default Verso vs ECUtek

As the title says.. Verso vs ecutek ...

- Opinions?
- Experiences?
- Potential problems?
- Good/bad sides of Verso?
- What would you go for?
- Price comparisons (Price of a verso)?
- Any 06's done as yet?
- Potential power increases?

Its an 06 sti with cat back zorst atm.

Looking at going for TBE, silicon intake, CAI for now. Trying to find a descent remap at the moment, but undecided between a tek2 and a verso (which seems to be the hype atm). Something that will improve performance all round, make the most out of all the mods, but still be driveable.

Thanks in advance.
Luca.

May as well keep this as a verso vs ecutek thread also for anyone else who's looking at versos also (Following on from the speedworx thread - http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthre...erso#post85702)

i thought verso has better tuneability. ie being able to tune sards with verso and NOT being able to tune sards with the ecutek.

You can tune for bigger injectors with Ecutek AFAIK....

But they are both essentially the same product, but Verso is cheaper

Mines going in shortly, will be fitted with my old RMS zorst, APS CAI, Perrin silicon inlet and Verso tune.....
Hoping I see around 250ps, thats what the old bug (with the above plus VF35 and injectors) did, it went along nicely enough, plus should have a bit of extra torque, will be interesting to see....

Sadly people have some real odd preconceived idea that they will get a certain power rating.

Verso Automotive and their tuner will not push the car any further than what the engine is happy producing, even if it is 89hp. I personally think this is the way it should be, gone of the days where people say yeah lets push 20 psi and she'll be right.

If the engine's pinging.. STOP! , Investigate the reason first then continue.

Pete, I was stating "hoping I see" in regards to the 2.5l motor, not how much power the Verso tune will make, I will be requesting a very conservative tune as it is, as the 2.5s are still an unknown quantity. If 250ps is off the mark so be it......

theres a lot of JDM only smarts that pete has been able to unlock out of the stock ecu which ECUTEK doesnt even get a look-in on, the base intent of the product may be the same, but the final released product is totally different from ECUTEK in terms of table use and methodology.
as ive mentioned before in this thread.

in essence, verso is a much better product all round, doesnt make any bold statements or promises- it gets my rare thumbs up.

Who sells it, do they have a homepage (verso itself or otherwise?).
