Mines going in shortly, will be fitted with my old RMS zorst, APS CAI, Perrin silicon inlet and Verso tune.....
Hoping I see around 250ps, thats what the old bug (with the above plus VF35 and injectors) did, it went along nicely enough, plus should have a bit of extra torque, will be interesting to see....

Sadly people have some real odd preconceived idea that they will get a certain power rating.

Verso Automotive and their tuner will not push the car any further than what the engine is happy producing, even if it is 89hp. I personally think this is the way it should be, gone of the days where people say yeah lets push 20 psi and she'll be right.

If the engine's pinging.. STOP! , Investigate the reason first then continue.

Pete, I was stating "hoping I see" in regards to the 2.5l motor, not how much power the Verso tune will make, I will be requesting a very conservative tune as it is, as the 2.5s are still an unknown quantity. If 250ps is off the mark so be it......

certainly verso seems alot cheaper...around 33% or more.....my only concerns are that as a new product, I dont know if there will be problems in 1 or 2 years with it...ecutek has proven ok over time.

also Ecutek has a network of support for its products, where verso at this stage is only available through the one outlet. If something goes wrong (bad health/broke) with verso, or speedworks, your on your own.....where ecutek has other options....

But at the end of the day, I am sure Verso know that and thats one of the reasons that their product is so much cheaper and great value...

I am about to get my 06 rex tuned with one of these options and these are the thoughts going through my head!
ARGHHHH!!!!

Cheers n beers

All cool bro, I am actually quite interested to see how this style of ECU goes after the trials and tribulations of UTEC on the bug.
I ain't a power monger anyway, I can't handle what I got on the skid pan as it is
Morgys Ecuteked 05 Sti with mods was awesomely smooth to drive and I see no reason why a Verso tune will not be the same with all the nice bits like cold start etc still funtioning normally.
Cooj, at the end of the day we are really only paying for tuning time so what is there to loose? Go MoTec pride and tuning time can easily notch up some impressive numbers ($).

As with every car, the minute u start making things faster, it wears quicker and things will break over time. Its one of the risks we all take when we mod our cars. As its been stated, its more the tuner than the product when it comes to safely tuning a car. Sean is a fantastic tuner and you will be hard pressed to find someone that takes as much care as he does when tuning your car. Verso is a fantastic product and i know of a few ppl running this and the improvement is amazing. I mean i took a ride in jan's car and it was amazing how much of an improvement they had made to it.

So, who are the people behind Verso?

I have EcuTek and am extremely happy with it atm. Spoke to Speedworks about Verso and apparently Verso uses alot more of the Ecu compared to EcuTek and is alot cheaper therefore is apparently a better product overall.
But I am not going to be the 06 bunny with Verso I will leave that to someone else and stick with proven products.
My 2c

Go straight for Tek 3, Tek 2 will disappoint. Tek 3 you will be stoked!
